Title 42, the pandemic policy that has kept thousands of migrants and asylum seekers from entering the US is set to expire at midnight on Thursday, May 11th.
In a press release sent out by city officials, it was announced that part of a Downtown street next to Sacred Heart Church, Father Rahm Avenue, would be closed immediately between South Oregan and South Mesa Street.
The New York Post ran a story on May 19, claiming that El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego would declare a state of emergency in anticipation of a surge of immigrants after Title 42 lifts.
