Today is not a sunny day on Sesame Street. Kevin Clash, the voice actor and puppeteer behind Elmo, the show's most popular character, has taken an indefinite leave of absence following allegations the he had sexual relations with an underage boy.

I'm a huuuuuuge Sesame Street fan, and there is no bigger celeb in the world that the Big Yellow One himself, Big Bird!  But after he got name-checked during last week's presidential debate by Mitt Romney, Bird left Sesame Street to pay a visit to SNL to talk presidential politics.

Should long-time bachelor “roommates” Bert and Ernie tie the knot? LGBT activist Lair Scott thinks so, and he has created on online petition on Change.org which requests that Sesame Street and PBS allow the pair to wed. According to the petition, such a matrimony would help teach kids that homophobia is not OK.
