It is football season and that means the countdown to the Super Bowl is on! Although I do enjoy watching football, my favorite part about the Super Bowl game has got to be the halftime show!

My biased opinion is always going to say that Michael Jackson has had the BEST halftime show ever! However, there’s been other artists and bands who are close seconds!

This year’s Super Bowl halftime show performer has yet to be revealed but rumor has it Taylor Swift could be this year’s Super Bowl halftime performer. *Gasp*

Roger Goodell, Commissioner of the NFL, was interviewed on the Today show recently and when he was asked if Taylor Swift would be the halftime show performer for next year’s Super Bowl he had a one word response: “Maybe.”

We won’t know for sure who the halftime show performer is until it’s announced, but in the meantime I asked El Pasoans: If you were in charge of booking the halftime show, who would you pick? And here’s who El Pasoans want to see on the stage this year!

Of course the obvious choice and someone quiet a few people wouldn’t mind seeing at the Super Bowl is the queen herself, but some people suggest maybe she add Sabrina Carpenter for the ultimate crossover moment.

Imagine the stadium turning into one giant Miami nightclub. Fireworks, lasers, and “Don’t Stop the Party.” I went to a Pitbull concert when he came to El Paso and let me tell you, I was on my feet the whole show! He puts on a greats how so I wasn’t surprised to see his name on the list of suggestions!

Rock Legends

A lot of El Pasoans are ready to see some rock legends back on the stage. Metallica got a lot of love, followed by Bon Jovi and Green Day. El Paso clearly wants a guitar-shredding, headbanging halftime show.

Country Takeover

Luke Combs, Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, and Morgan Wallen were top choices for fans craving a little southern twang.

Rumors are already circulating that Miley could be the Super Bowl halftime performer and honestly, I can see it! She has a huge number of hits that would sure keep the crowd entertained!
