Good News Texas, Whataburger Is Turning 75 – Here’s What You Need To Know
The official hamburger stand of Texas is turning 75 and they're bringing back several tasty, discontinued, items to celebrate this milestone.
Ok, Whataburger may not have been "officially" named the "official" hamburger stand of Texas but, c'mon ... how could it not be?
They were born in Texas, for the longest time could only be found in Texas and talking smack about them will rile Texans up quicker than Ozzy did when he p***ed on the Alamo.
Over the years, Whataburger has, of course, tried new things here and there. Some survived the test of time and some were discontinued. Some of those that didn't last, gone but certainly not forgotten, are coming back.
What Whataburger Fan Favorites Are Coming Back?
Good news Texas, the Whata-gods heard you and to celebrate their diamond jubilee, they're bringing back some tasty treats that haven't been available for a long time. Here's what's coming back ... so far ...
- The Monterey Melt - two beef patties, melted Monterey Jack and American cheese with grilled onions, peppers and jalapeño ranch sauce. Score.
- The Chicken Fajita Taco ... grilled chicken breast, onions, poblano, red peppers in a flour tortilla with Monterey Jack cheese, jalapeños and/or avocado.
That's not all, the Whataburger website hints at other past faves coming back, (A1 Thick and Hearty Burger anyone? Please!?), and adds a couple of new beverages. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, Mexican Hot Chocolate Coffee and Mexican Hot Chocolate Shake. (Hot or iced.)
The official anniversary is August 8th so, hold on tight Whata-fans ... looks like there's more yummy-ness ahead as the big day approaches.
