Will Texas See Any Snow This Thanksgiving?

So far, fall has been a little on the warm side in Texas but winter could pop its head up over Thanksgiving and parts of the lone star state may even see some snow.

Don't get excited El Paso, we're not the part that can expect any white stuff. Nothing more than the kind that finds its way across the border anyway. Fall has been way un-fallish for Texas but there's a cold front headed our way and things are going to change pretty quickly.

The good news is, even Houston may feel a chill over Thanksgiving. The bad news is, right before it, they're looking at a record breaking heat wave.

Thankfully, this hot spell will be doused by a surface cold front swinging down from the northwest into Southeast Texas early Thursday morning, dropping temperatures into the 40s in the Houston metro to start the day. Up in the Texas Panhandle, there's a 5-to-10-percent chance this Thanksgiving cold system will bring light rain and potential snow flurries in the vicinity of Dalhart, Texas on Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Any accumulation in the extreme northwest of the state will likely be less than half an inch, according to NWS forecasters. - chron

The Amarillo area will see highs in the 40s and wind chills could drop temps to under 20 degrees.

What's El Paso's Thanksgiving Weather Forecast?

Thanksgiving in El Paso will be pretty mild with a high of 62, a low of 40 and some clouds but Blind Melon called it ... no rain.

Friday will be about the same with a tiny chance for rain. The coldest day for us, within the next 10 days, looks to be Tuesday when we'll see a high of 59, a low of 39 and another teeny rain chance.
