Borderland Schools Issue 2-Hour Delay for Tuesday Due To Weather
There is a chance of snow in El Paso, and that's why almost every school district in the Borderland is calling for a 2-hour delay. According to our news partners at KVIA:
A winter storm arrives tonight and overnight giving us the chance for some rain and light snow overnight. Snowfall, if we see any at all, is expected to be light - no accumulation is anticipated at this point.
An ABC-7 First Alert has been issued due to the winter storm entering our area Monday.
The announcement of delays started with Las Cruces Public Schools and then El Paso ISD followed suit.
Here is a list of all the school districts that are operating Tuesday, January 24, 2023 on a 2-hour delay:
- Las Cruces Public Schools
- El Paso ISD
- Socorro ISD
- Gadsden ISD
- Canutillo ISD
- Fabens ISD
- San Elizario ISD
- Yselta ISD
- Anthony ISD
- Clint ISD
- Tornillo ISD
- IDEA Public Schools
All morning Pre-K half-day programs are canceled for EPISD.

Due to anticipated inclement weather, MWR facilities will open at 10am tomorrow Tuesday, January 24th with the exception of CYS facilities that will open at their normal hours of operation.
