A travel alert has been released by the United States, which all residents of Texas should pay attention to. Here's the details.
Travel Advisory About Mexico Issued Following Crime Rate Increase
Per the US Department Of State - Bureau Of Consular Affairs, the notice was sent out due to two major problems: crime and kidnapping. There many regulations that citizens of the US, and Texas, should follow if they plan to visit the country of Mexico. According to the release, these are the places one should not travel to, change plans if they are going to travel there, or be aware of the their surroundings when there:

Colima state due to crime and kidnapping
Guerrero state due to crime
Michoacan state due to crime
Sinaloa state due to crime
Tamaulipas state due to crime and kidnapping
Zacatecas state due to crime and kidnapping
Reconsider Travel To:

Chiapas state due to crime.
Chihuahua state due to crime and kidnapping.
Guanajuato state due to crime.
Jalisco state due to crime and kidnapping.
