Hillsboro, Texas - A bomb threat was called into an elementary school in Hillsboro on Monday, May 12th.

Classes were interrupted at Hillsboro Elementary Monday morning after a bomb threat was called in by a man already behind bars. The Hillsboro Department of Public Safety says the call came in at 7:54 a.m. on May 12. The school resource officer reported the threat, and a full evacuation of the campus was conducted as police and other emergency responders cleared the school of any danger.

No Danger Found, Classes Resume ✅

No devices or explosives were found after a thorough search. Students and staff were never in danger, officials said, and classes resumed later after the area was cleared.

Threat Made by Incarcerated Individual 📞

The caller is a 31-year-old inmate in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. His name has not been released but he is still in TDCJ custody and detectives are seeking a second warrant for the threat.

The incident appears to be related to the recent arrest of a female suspect who was wanted in Anderson County on drug charges, but the bomb threat is an isolated incident. The investigation is ongoing.
