She did not think that her boyfriend would cause any harm as he watched the small child while Dewey's mother was out having fun with her new boyfriend. It was March 31, 2022, when the small child was found starved to death and locked in a closet of his sister's house. He had already had attention towards him because he was a toddler who only weighed 19 pounds, which also was the cause of his death due to nutrition.

J Lewis went to court and was convicted on two counts of injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury, and even though the proof was in his conviction, he had no remorse Lewis was asked if he respected the jury's decision and he just replied with "not really". Lewis the toddler sister is charged with 30 years of failure to provide the necessary care for her baby. The mother of the toddler who wanted to go have fun instead of taking care of her child is still pending her trial date, but the mother has to confess that the child has not received adequate care for nine months.
