
August in May? Central Texas Faces Extreme Heat Warning
The state of Texas is known for the heat that is goes through each year. As time passes, concern continues to grow about how hot the state can get. But now, heat is going to hit the Lone Star State much earlier than anticipated, bringing about even more worries to those who live in the Central Texas area.
When Is The Heatwave Coming To Central Texas?
According to NBC News, concerns about how the climate has changed around us has the data to prove it's different from year to year. 2024 broke a record for how scorching the earth was, per data. So with all of this in mind, eyes are upon weather models across the nation.
The new heatwave is set to affect the state as whole, with Central Texas and the southern part of the state going over triple digits. Here's how bad it will get for those parts, which includes Austin and San Antonio.

How Hot Will It Get In Texas Overall This Week?
CNN reports that Austin may reach a high of 107 degrees on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025. That temperature would be the highest ever reported in May. The city is also included in a level 2 heat warning, per the NWS.
The NWS level 2 as that it "affects most individuals sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration." So it's important for many in the Central Texas area, and across the state as a whole, to hydrate and cool off by finding air conditioning or shade.
