A heartbreaking incident unfolded in north Houston on Monday, resulting in the death of a 2-year-old girl following a vicious dog attack. The tragic event occurred around 12:20 p.m. at a residence in the 2500 block of Milwaukee Street.

According to ABC 13, Houston police report that officers arrived at the scene to find the toddler had been attacked by three Rottweilers inside the home. The child was under the care of a babysitter at the time of the incident. Emergency responders swiftly transported the injured girl to Texas Children's Hospital, where she was sadly pronounced dead.

Authorities have seized the three dogs involved in the attack. The City of Houston's BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions has taken custody of the animals as the investigation continues.

Details surrounding what led to the attack are still being examined by the Houston Police Department. Officials are urging anyone with information about this tragic case to come forward and contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
