Buc-ee’s Is About To Break Ground On A New Location In Central Texas

This past June the world's largest Buc-ee's opened in Luling, Texas, and covers 75,593 square feet. By the end of 2025, another similarly sized store will be opening along Interstate 35 in Central Texas. While it will not be the largest, it'll still be just as massive.

The question is when will Buc-ee's come to East Texas to welcome those traveling into Texas on I-20 from Louisiana?

Currently, there are 35 Buc-ee's located throughout Texas. It's become a 'must stop' kind of place for Texas travelers. Buc-ee's has a reputation for having an endless supply of gas pumps, immaculately clean restrooms, and more snacks and drinks than you could ever devour.

Amarillo is close to opening a Buc-ee's along I-40 and now San Marcos is poised to be breaking ground on a Buc-ee's soon! According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction on a new 74,000+ square foot Buc-ee's will begin this October.

This behemoth of a travel stop is expected to cost more than $47 million and will be constructed along I-35. Once completed it will have 120 gas pumps along with more than 100 electric vehicle charging spots and a store that spans 74,707 square feet selling Texas-themed merchandise, accessories, and decor, in addition to gas and hundreds of food options.

A couple of those food options that people stop into Buc-ee's for are:

• barbecue sandwiches
• sugar-coated cashews and pecans
• large soft drinks
• a bag of Beaver Nuggets

Walking out without a bag of Beaver Nuggets is almost a crime!

In about a year-and-a-half when you make the retail therapy shopping trip to the San Marcos outlet malls, you can stop into the Texas travel stop 'must stop' place and marvel at the wonder known as Buc-ee's and bring me back a bag of those Beaver Nuggets!
