If you like to travel outside of Amarillo, there is one thing you really need to do: get TSA PreCheck. It's one of those things that can save you a lot of time at the airport. I know the TSA process in Amarillo is not a major headache at all, and it's not.

The problem is that you will have to travel back at some point. Just using it once at a major airport makes it worth the investment.

Why TSA PreCheck is a Game-Changer for Travelers

If you go through the process of getting pre-checked, then any time you fly after that, you can speed up the TSA process. You won't have to take your shoes and belt off. You will no longer have to remove all the little liquid bottles from your carry-on. If you have a laptop, it will no longer have to be removed.

The line on that side of the airport moves a whole lot faster. So, filling out the paperwork, either in person or online, showing up for the interview with documents you need, and paying the $76.75 for five years is definitely worth it.

When I first got approved, I had travelled to Denver and Indianapolis, and both trips convinced me that I did the right thing. I got to whiz through the TSA portion of the airport with my granddaughter and her things, while her mom did not.

We got to sit on the other end, just relaxing, while my daughter would panic about whether she would make it through or not. Since then, she has also applied for and received her TSA PreCheck.
