A tragic incident unfolded early Sunday morning in Houston's Midtown when a man, trying to run over a woman he was with, accidentally hit and killed an innocent bystander.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. near the Gulf Freeway in Houston, Texas.

HOUSTON POLICE ARRIVE TO LATE NIGHT DISPATCH

Houston police were patrolling the area when they heard what they initially thought were gunshots. Upon arriving, they discovered that a woman had been struck by a vehicle. Witnesses reported that the suspect, who fled the scene, was later apprehended several blocks away on Jefferson Street.

A DOMESTIC ALTERCATION AT A NIGHTCLUB

The altercation began at a nightclub, where the man and his partner were reportedly involved in a domestic dispute. After being kicked out of the club, the man got into his car and started driving erratically, crashing into multiple vehicles. He then tried to run over the woman he was with, but she managed to avoid being hit. Unfortunately, an innocent bystander, who was a club manager preparing to head home, was struck and killed.

The Houston Police Department's Vehicular Crimes and Homicide divisions are investigating the case. They are considering filing a murder charge against the suspect.
