Masked Gunman on the Run After Shooting 4 Children in Houston
In a horrifying incident Thursday night in Houston, four siblings—ages 10, 14, 15, and 16—were shot in their home by masked gunmen, who police suspect might be teenagers themselves.
The attack occurred just after 9 p.m. at a residence in Houston, Texas.
GUNMEN ATTEMPT TO LURE VICTIMS OUTSIDE
According to Assistant Police Chief Megan Howard, the suspects arrived at the home and began calling out for people to come outside. Family members, who were outside at the time, noticed the masked intruders brandishing firearms and attempted to secure the house. Despite their efforts, the gunmen forced their way in and opened fire.
4 SIBLINGS SHOT BY THE MASKED GUNMEN
The four siblings were struck by bullets, with the 15-year-old boy sustaining a severe stomach wound and remaining in the ICU with a breathing tube the following morning. The other children were injured in their arms and legs. The shooting occurred in a multi-generational household, where other relatives were also present during the attack.
TEENS BELIEVED TO BE THE SUSPECTS
The family believes the gunmen are the same individuals who had previously vandalized their truck. Neighbors recalled earlier gunfire incidents, including one that struck a nearby house without causing injury.
Police have indicated that the shooting was targeted and are currently pursuing leads that may help identify and arrest the suspects. They are also reviewing surveillance footage from nearby homes to aid in their investigation.
All big cities have crime, but Houston in particular is one of the most violent and dangerous in the state.
