Driving around Texas is pretty complicated. There are tons of laws and vehicle restrictions that you have to know by heart to stay legal out on the roads.
With apps like Waze and Google Maps, at least we aren't shuffling pages of turn-by-turn directions printed out before leaving the house. I honestly don't know how we ever got anywhere.
Now that we are reliant on smart cars and mobile devices, it takes the guesswork out of driving in the Lone Star State. Getting lost isn't as big of a concern, so now we are just worried about getting pulled over.
Witnessing A Police Officer Initiate A Traffic Stop
While traveling on Highway 69 South this past weekend, I saw a police officer go after a vehicle. I knew there could be an officer on patrol in the area. I already had multiple notifications on Waze.
It was like watching a lion cut a gazelle out of the pack. You are sad for the gazelle, but what can you do about it?
He was likely speeding, but there could have been a lot of reasons that the stop was initiated. He could have been breaking any of the laws below that caught the officer's attention.
