Although the problem appears to have finally been fixed, people were reporting that Google's AI was citing a dated KLBK article stating that The Shack BBQ was permanently closed.

That wasn't KLBK's fault, as that information was true five years ago. Since then, many different new outlets reported that The Shack BBQ reopened, including our News Talk station.

While AI can be a useful tool for aggregating information quickly, you should always take AI's answers with a grain of salt. Look at which sources it cites (it does provide links) and see if that information is old or incorrect.

Always use your irreplaceable and priceless human critical thinking skills. Like any other tool, AI's usefulness is in how you wield it. You know the limitations of a hammer- know the limitations of AI.

The Shack BBQ Is Well Worth The Trip

The Shack BBQ is located at 2309 N Frankford Ave, which for many in Lubbock represents a bit of a drive (like 10-15 minutes). However, I recommend making the trip, even if we are spoiled here in Lubbock as far as drive times go.

I went recently and had an excellent meal. Pro tip- get the collard greens! The meat was delicious and fresh, and all the sides were incredible. I also really enjoyed my ice-cold draft beer that was shockingly inexpensive.

If you haven't been to The Shack in quite some time, it will be a little different from what you remember. The old counter ordering system is gone; instead, you have a nice wait staff person who will take your order at your table.

Also, they now have quite extended hours to fulfill your cravings.

And they do have a full bar ready to serve you ice-cold beers or one of their many signature cocktails, even frozen ones.
