Tacos have roots that go way back to the 18th century in none other than Mexico. The name taco derived from the little paper packets used by miners to hold gunpowder—who knew they’d evolve into something so delicious!

Fun Fact Number 1- National Taco Day is a big deal but the dates been changed for a fun reason! TACO BELL WANTED NATIONAL TACO DAY TO FALL ON A TUESDAY!

Check this out! According to national news sources like WTOP News, Taco Bell is behind the date change in 2024 so that National Taco Day fell on a Tuesday ( National Taco Day USED TO BE on October 4th. Now, thanks to Taco Bell moving forward, National Taco Day will always be celebrated on the first Tuesday in October.
