This weekend's Global Marijuana March aims to change the narrative of cannabis culture. 

This Saturday, El Pasoans are invited to find out more about the benefits and laws surrounding the medicinal herb.  

Since 2014, El Pasoans have been taking part in the Global Marijuana March to start the conversation and educate the public about the benefits of marijuana as a whole while opening the lines of communication that will put an end to the negative stereotypes and stigmas of marijuana use.

El Paso NORML, in conjunction with LegalizEP, is hosting the annual Marijuana March at San Jacinto Plaza this Saturday 

The march is in conjunction with the Global Marijuana March taking place annually worldwide, usually taking place on the first Saturday in May.

The March:

  • Saturday - May 8, 2021
  • Gather at noon - The march begins at 1 p.m.

The march will be taking place downtown, gathering first at San Jacinto Plaza at noon and then marching to the El Paso County Jail, the El Paso County Courthouse, and the Federal Courthouse. Beginning at 1 p.m., a panel of guest speakers will also be on-site, including Colt DeMorris from El Paso Norml, Michael Castro from Legalize Ep, Daryoush Austin Zamhariri, James Riddle, and many more yet to be announced. 

After the speakers, the march will head back to San Jacinto Plaza to the Global Marijuana March After Party.

The After Party:

  • 501 Bistro located at  501 Texas Ave.
  • Doors open at 4 p.m.
  • Live music from DJ Phame and Dulce Mal
  • Live comedy from Nico Adjemian Jerry Karnes from Viva Live TV.

The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.
