Food Trucks on the Fly, the eats on wheels roundup at the El Paso International Airport, has been extended through the holidays with a couple of adjustments to the schedule.

Effective now, the weekly food event will only take place on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. or food trucks run out, whichever comes first. Additionally, Food Trucks on the Fly has been cleared for landing through the holiday season and will now run into the new year until January 2, 2021.

The eats on wheels roundup features some of El Paso's most popular food trucks serving up some of the best grub-on-the-go our town has to offer for weekend evenings of al fresco patio dining. Each week’s featured food trucks will vary slightly and change weekly. Cuisine options will run the gamut from authentic Filipino to hamburgers to tacos to Asian fusion.

The weekly food event takes place in the south end of the Short-Term lot, which is set up with a “socially distanced dining area” and access to the newly landscaped plaza walkway and walking paths.

You are asked to practice social distancing and wear a face mask when not eating or drinking. Parking available in the airport short term parking lot for $1 per hour.

Initially set to end September 27, Food Trucks on the Fly quickly took off (see what I did there?) leading to its extended stay for the rest of the year. The outdoor dining option is made possible through a partnership between the El Paso International Airport and the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department.
