This Texas Middle School Orchestra Wants to Open for Coldplay

Coldplay is set to make it’s first-ever stop in El Paso, Texas the weekend of June 13th! The sold out concert has many people in El Paso excited, especially a few middle school students at Puentes Middle School.

These young musicians have gone viral after a heartwarming video surfaced online of them performing Coldplay’s iconic hit “Viva La Vida” with the kind of passion that’ll give you goosebumps. The video was posted on Mrs. Ericka M. Flores social media page with a caption that read:

“I don’t know about you, but I think @coldplay should have our Bobcats on stage for Viva La Vida when they come to UTEP’s Sun Bowl Stadium in 2 wks.”

 

The post, which was also shared on Fit Fam El Paso’s Instagram page, shows the orchestra pouring their hearts into the Coldplay classic, and now they’ve got one big goal: to be Coldplay’s official opening act when the band comes to the Sun Bowl this June.

And you know what? They’re making a strong case.

The video has already captured the attention of locals, music lovers, and we are hoping (fingers crossed) Coldplay themselves will soon catch wind of this precious video, because if anyone deserves a shot to share the stage with one of the biggest bands in the world, it’s a group of passionate, hard-working middle schoolers who just get the music.
