El Paso Convent Needs Your Unwanted Shoes

I know you. You have a ton of shoes in your closet that you bought and only wore a couple of times, and now they're sitting in the back of your closet gathering dust, waiting for their moment in the sun.

Face it. That moment is never going to come. Do something good with those shoes. Let them see the world.

Give them away.

A group of volunteers are collecting used "gently" worn shoes for the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. The shoes will be sent to developing countries, and the Sisters will get $.40 per pound of shoes donated. The money they get will then go toward buying a street sign for the Monastery in busy south side El Paso. They're trying to collect 7,500 pairs of shoes. They can be for any gender, any size, and any season. Literally any pair of shoes that you don't want, the Sisters need.

Please go through your closet and gather those shoes to donate for the Sisters. Because the Sisters are cloistered, they cannot pick up the shoes or have you drop them off. Call Norma Talamantes at 525-3799 to arrange for pick-up of the shoes.
