Bone Found At Amazon Site In El Paso Is Confirmed To Be Human
The unearthed bone at the future Amazon site in Far East El Paso turned out to be human after all.
Welcome to El Paso, where chances are you’re going to dig up something or someone like the recent discovery of a bone found by construction crew workers at the new Amazon Fulfillment Center in East El Paso.
On Monday, construction crew workers found a bone at the site where the Amazon Fulfillment Center is going up on the 12100 block of Emerald Pass Dr.
Upon discovering the bone, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit was called out to investigate the area but did not find any more bone fragments.
Since then, the unearthed bone has now been confirmed as an actual human skeletal limb by the El Paso County Sherriff’s Office.
Human remains around El Paso have been popping up as of late. A few months ago, El Paso Water crew members had to halt replacing old water lines in the Sunset Heights Historic district near downtown after finding actual human remains.
The discovery of the human remains came after El Paso Water Utilities crews stumbled across them while digging to replace old water lines near Upson and Fewel streets. Workers had to cease digging while an archeological team currently excavates and surveys the site.
Unlike the Sunset Heights investigation, the Amazon construction site has been released back to the construction company by the El Paso Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit.
The Medical Examiner's Office also received a portion of the bone for further analysis, so we'll have to wait and see who this human skeletal limb belonged to and how long it’s been there; the mystery deepens.
