If you’ve ever wondered what the zoo animals do after the sun sets, or if you just want to enjoy the zoo when its a tad cooler and there’s more shade, then this is the weekend to go.

This Saturday, August 18, The El Paso Zoo will be hosting its final Zoo after Howlers event of the summer. Instead of closing for the day at 4 p.m. as it normally does, the zoo will re-open at 5 p.m. and stay open until 8:30 p.m.

Some of what’s happening after hours includes live music from 7th Ave Band, a special high flying Aerial Acrobatic Show by Odd-Lab performance group, and an evening Wings of the World bird show in the all-new Wildlife Amphitheater.

All attractions, including the splash pad, Tree House Playground, and the all-new Hunt Family Endangered Species Carousel will be available into the evening.

Plus, the giraffes will be back on exhibit. They've been kept out of their area while four new shade structures are being installed, but they'll be back roaming the grounds in all their majestic beauty through August 26 before being taken off exhibit again until installation is completed in early September.

The theme for the Zoo After Howler's summer finale is 'Dress Like Your Favorite Superhero'. Zoo staff would love it if you and/or your little ones came dressed like Wonder Woman, Batman or whoever your favorite Super Hero is.
