There is nothing more devastating than the loss of a child. For an El Paso family, the loss of their 6-year-old is compounded by financial difficulties.

Mark Viescas was in a car being driven by his grandfather earlier this week, when they were in a six car collision on I-10 East near Hawkins. Mark's grandmother, sister, and cousin were also in the car. Mark was rushed to the hospital, but he later died of his injuries.

Mark's grandparents are his legal guardians. Mark was in kindergarten at Mission Valley Elementary School in the Ysleta Independent School District. Officials there say they know the family is going to need help with expenses because of the accident, so they set up an account where people can donate to the family.

All of Mark's family are still in the hospital. His cousin is in stable condition, but his 3-year-old sister is in critical condition. Both his grandparents are still in the hospital, as well.

If you would like donate to help the family, the "Mark Viescas, Jr. Fund", account number 187996, has been set up at the Teachers Federal Credit Union, 975 Lomaland.

Please help the family if you can.
