There were some scary moments for a woman and her small child in the parking lot of Marshall’s at Basset Place last Friday. An unidentified 30-year-old was walking with her 4-year-old when 23-year-old Reonna Hallion approached them, grabbed and pulled the woman’s purse and knocked both victims to the ground.

Witnesses say Hallion then pepper-sprayed, punched and dragged the woman because she wouldn't let go of her purse. She even pepper-sprayed herself and a man who tried to intervene. Hallion was eventually taken into custody by an off-duty officer who followed her to a nearby hotel when she took off on foot.

The woman and her child were treated at the scene for minor injuries and Hallion was booked into the county jail.

A scary incident that should remind us to be aware of who is around us at all times.
