Congratulations to Diego Robot, winner of the Chuco Art Competition at this year’s Mexican Food Fiesta.

Several local and very talented artists participated at this year’s Chuco Art Competition. Each artist was given fifty dollars to create an original art piece featuring an El Paso theme that was created live at the Mexican Food Fiesta.

Each artist came up with different themes ranging from folkorico dancers and the star on the mountain to the Amigo Man, the upcoming trollies and even the alligators at San Jacinto Plaza.

This year was a tough call on the judges but at the end of the day our winner was Diego Robot who recreated his vision of the alligators that lived at San Jacinto Plaza. Diego Robot won a $200 prize thanks to our Chuco Art Competition sponsor, Upper Valley Urgent Care.

Second place winner was artist Jessie Gandaria whose painting depicted a couple of folklorico dancers with the star on the mountain back drop, taking home a prize of $100.

A big thank you to all the artists who participated this year and we hope to see you once again next year at the Mexican Food Fiesta Chuco Art Competition.
