The band "Dexy's Midnight Runners" who had a #1 hit in the 80's called "Come On Eileen",  got their name from a drug reference. "Dexy's" refers to the pill Dexedrine,  more commonly referred to as "Speed". Since Dexy's keep their users up all night, they were dubbed, "Dexy's Midnight Runners"..!!
