April 1st, All Fools Day, April Fools or if you're me just Sunday (in this year's case).  Apparently the tradition came about sometime during the middle ages when the current calendar was adopted and as a result the New Year was no longer a weeklong celebration that lasted from May 25th through April 1st (thank you Wikipedia!).  For some reason this led to people who now celebrated the New Year on January 1st to mock the others as fools and playing jokes on them.  I bet even in the middle ages there was that one person who just took things a little too far. If that sounds like an accurate description of you today enjoy this next article courtesy or cracked.com
