The new World Trade Center is open for business for the first time today. There was nothing more horrific, or world changing, than the day the Twin Towers fell. So much has been written about September 11, 2001, that this day should be a day of celebration, and a day of renewal for New York City.

Construction on the new Freedom Tower began in October of 2004, and with the installation of the spire at the top of the building, it now rises 1,776 feet in the sky. The images that make up this time lapse movie are actually hundreds of thousands of high definition photos that were taken over the past 9 years, and hand-edited into this amazing look at the building of the Freedom Tower.
