I think most of us can agree that Christmas and movies go together like cookies and milk. That’s why it’s so nice to see the return of the Holiday Movies at the Plaza series.

And this year, they are all free to see. No ticket needed, just show up.

This Sunday, Dec. 4, 2017, they're showing two family-friendly yuletide favorites, each curated by the El Paso Community Foundation Plaza Classic Film Festival.

First up is the hilarious and sweet Elf, starring Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf. This movie never gets old. It's an absolute must-watch every holiday season. Showtime is 1 p.m. Doors open at 12:30.

The computer-animated The Polar Express with Tom Hanks as the Hero Boy, the Hero Boy's father, the Conductor, the Hobo, Santa Claus, and the Narrator will follow at 3:30 p.m. Doors open at 3 p.m.

And in true Plaza Classic style, organists Ken Fedorick, Richard Garven and Laurie Koval will perform holiday music played on the original Plaza Mighty Wurlitzer Organ a half hour before each movie.
