I love me the old movies - Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon. You want to watch an old movie, call me and I'll meet you anywhere they're showing.

But 'Citizen Kane' is a whole 'nuther thing.

This Orson Welles classic is held up as the movie that all moviemakers and moviegoers should see. The movie follows a wildly rich and powerful newspaper publisher, and it is thought to be the story of William Randoph Hearst, the real-life publisher of newspapers that influenced American politics for decades.

If you know anything about 'Citizen Kane' it's probably the iconic image of Orson Welles whispering 'Rosebud' as he lays dying in his bed. Was 'Rosebud' a woman? Was it a pet? What is 'Rosebud'? If you don't know, don't read this article about the movie. Go see it instead, for free, this Saturday at the International Museum of Art at 1211 Montana.
