Watch a Rare Video of an Owl Swimming

Watch a young owl swim in this extraordinary video.

National Geographic obtained video from hikers who captured the unique footage of a young great horned owl who may have fallen off his perch and landed in the water forcing him to swim. The video was taken at Lake Powell between Arizona and Utah and it shows the beautiful creature swimming along until it reaches land. Owls are not known to swim frequently because once they get wet they are unable to take flight and could potentially be attacked by a predator.
