Marc Cox is an associate professor in UTEP's Department of Biological Sciences and is now named Inventor of the Year!

So cool to have such a prestigious award right here in El Paso. The Intellectual Property Committee of the State Bar of Texas has named UTEP professor Marc Cox as the 2016 Texas Inventor of the Year for the breast and prostate cancer treatments he developed. Cox’s research on breast and prostate cancer treatments led to the new developments of drugs to treat the diseases.

Cox is recently working with the National Institutes of Health, Texas Southern University, Clark Atlanta University and the University of Colorado to conduct studies on patients with the diseases and using the new developments of drugs he has invented as treatment. As of now 6 patients are pending approval to undergo the new drugs.
