UTEP Opening Doors Early for James Taylor Concert

The Don Haskins Center will open its doors early for the James Taylor concert on Tuesday, June 21, 2016.

Doors for the James Taylor concert on Tuesday, June 21 at the Don Haskins Center will open at 5:30 p.m., one hour and 30 minutes before the concert begins at 7 p.m. The change is due to the increase in traffic in the nearby area and increased security.

The new time change was made to allow people to get to the venue with plenty of time since there are many road closures on the West side of town. In addition to road issues the Don Haskins will also increase its security and will be screening all bags, and guests will also be screened using a hand-wand device that detects metal objects before entering the venues.

At this time, guests of all ticketed events at UTEP venues, including events at the Don Haskins Center, the Sun Bowl Stadium and Magoffin Auditorium, can expect this extra layer of security. It has been added in order to be consistent with the additional security measures in place at public venues around the country.
