UTEP Miners Football Team Wins Big On Saturday Night – Now They’re Bowl Eligible
The UTEP Miners were in great form this weekend with a win over North Texas. Saturday night’s win means the Miners are now bowl eligible!
For the first time since 2010, the UTEP Miners could go bowling. They still have two more games to play, and wins in those games could strengthen their bowl possibilities. The Miners will be on the road this Friday at Rice. You can catch the game on Fox Sports 1. They will be at home for their season closer on November 29th against Middle Tennessee.
The Miners have had such a good season that the Dallas Morning News’ Sports Day DFW calls them the ‘Biggest Riser’ in the state:
“Biggest riser: UTEP. This is a totally different team that finished 2-10 last year and was clobbered by the Mean Green, 41-7. The Miners, led by running back Aaron Jones are on pace for their first postseason since 2010. UTEP hasn’t won a bowl game since 1967.”
Ok, El Paso, everyone says they will go to Miner football games if they win. They’ve upheld their part of that statement, so it’s your turn! Buy a ticket to the final game at the Sun Bowl and let’s cheer on the Miners to victory!
