A former UTEP Miner currently in the NFL has a backup plan for when his playing days are over: magic.

And he's pretty good at it, too.

Jon Dorenbos, who played for UTEP from 2000-2002 and is currently a special teams long snapper for the Philadelphia Eagles, did a card trick on an episode of the NBC show America's Got Talent that aired Tuesday night (June, 21).

When asked by Simon Cowell if his audition went well and he went on to win the talent show what he'd do career-wise, Dorenbos replied , "Let's be honest, the NFL stands for 'Not For Long' so ...you always gotta have a backup plan."

He then proceeded to wow Cowell and fellow judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Mel B with a card trick that got him four yeses and into the next round.
