UPDATE: Motorcyclist Who Was Killed In Sun Metro Accident Ran A Red Light

El Paso Police have released the name of the motorcyclist who was killed after a crash with a Sun Metro bus earlier this week.

Police say 24-year-old Edward A. Stanton was killed after he ran a red light near the intersection of George Dieter and Bob Mitchell Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the bus was traveling south on George Dieter when Torres made a left turn onto Bob Mitchell, at what police call “a high rate of speed."

Stanton then allegedly ran the red light and hit the Sun Metro bus. Stanton was taken to Del Sol Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

There were no injuries reported on the Sun Metro bus.
