U.S. Chamber to Host “Hiring Our Heroes” Job Fair
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Foundation will host
“Hiring Our Heroes “, a hiring fair for spouses of active duty, guard, reserves,
and retired veterans.
The event is part of the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Business Alliance
presented by Capital One, which brings together 10 of the top non-profits in the country dedicated to improving the lives of working military spouses by lifting them out of unemployment and underemployment.
Participating companies range from America’s biggest employers to dozens of
small companies from across the region with jobs available for military spouses of all levels of experience. Lead sponsor, Toyota, will include more than 25 employers with jobs available.
Since its launch in March 2011, Hiring Our Heroes has held more than 360 hiring fairs nationwide, helping more than 14,100 veterans and military spouses find employment.
Tuesday’s event is also part of Hiring 500,000 Heroes, a national campaign announced by the U.S. Chamber, National Chamber Foundation, and Capital One, to engage the business community in committing to hire 500,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2014.
