The tallest of the five tree houses has been topped off and the Foster Tree House at the El Paso Zoo is ready for opening day this Saturday, March 8, 2014.

The new outdoor play area will feature fun for kids of all ages in the form of five tree houses, the tallest of which will rise 16 feet off the ground and provide a 360 degree view of the surrounding zoo area. In addition to the multiple tree houses, the new facility -- which was funded by El Paso businessman and philanthropists Paul Foster and his wife Alejandra -- will also include four slides, a crazy tunnel, log climbers and cargo netting.

I feel like a kid again just thinking about playing in there! And I love that children will be able to climb, swing, and slide and have an imagination-filled experience without any coin-operated machines or video games.

The El Paso Zoo is located at 4001 E. Paisano, across from the County Coliseum, and is open daily at 9:30 a.m. Admission varies. Visit their website for more details.
