TRAFFIC ALERT: East El Paso Drivers To Deal With Complete Closure Of Montwood For Two Weeks

If you drive on Montwood in the Eastwood High School area, you've been dealing with a traffic nightmare for two years because of a massive reconstruction of Montwood. The City says the work is almost finished, but for the next two weeks, they have to completely close down a huge section of Montwood.

Montwood between McRae and Wedgewood will be completely closed to all traffic starting Monday the 23rd at 6 a.m.
That closure will last for two weeks, so if you drive in that area, you'll have to follow detours to get around the closure. Work was supposed to be finished up on that area by the end of this month, but it looks like it will more likely be finished up around mid-March.

When it is all said and done, there will be new sidewalks, pavement, and drains to keep Montwood from flooding when it rains. There will also be new landscaping installed. So, take a deep breath eastsiders. We still have a few more weeks of headaches before all this is done!
