Top Baby Names in El Paso – It’s No Longer Jacob and Sophia

The Social Security Administration just released the most popular baby names, and for the first time in years, the top name for boys isn't Jacob in El Paso or America.

The El Paso Times looked at data from the Texas Department of State Health Services and found that Ethan was the No. 1 name given to baby boys in El Paso County last year. Jacob dropped to number two. Noah was the No. 1 baby name for boys across the country in 2013, according to the Social Security Administration.

For girls, the most popular name in America was Sophia for the third year in a row. But here in El Paso County, Mia topped the rankings.
