Before his untimely death Chris Cornell covered a few songs from different artists during his musical career ranging from Michael Jackson to John Lennon.

Chris Cornell passed away suddenly on May 17, 2017 in Detroit after performing a concert and then taking his life in a hotel room. While his family is awaiting toxicology report to determine what else he had taken other than his prescribed anti-anxiety medicine. His family did issue a statement saying in part, “What happened is inexplicable and I am hopeful that further medical reports will provide additional details. I know that he loved our children and he would not hurt them by intentionally taking his own life.”

While we are not sure why or what lead Cornell to end his life, we do know that he loved music and that’s why he performed and covered the following songs:

Imagine – John Lennon

Redemption Song – Bob Marley

I Will Always Love You – Whitney Houston

Billie Jean – Michael Jackson
