The Philanthropy Theatre will host the local Tom Lea: Grace Note in a Hard World, a one-act play by Camilla Carr.

The play, Tom Lea: Grace Note in a Hard World is based on the book Tom Lea, An Oral History by Adair Margo, the performance focuses on Lea’s early life as the mayor’s son, his studies at the Art Institute of Chicago and apprenticeship to muralist John Norton, his marriage to Nancy Taylor and later his marriage to his beloved Sarah Lea. The play stars, Ray Baker (who has supported seven Academy Award winning actors in the roles for which they won their Oscars) and Morgana Shaw (currently starring on Salem, Season Premier November 2nd).

Two performances will take place on Saturday, October 29 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, October 30 at 3 p.m.
