Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Are Divorcing After Five Years

Looks like the fairy tale is over: People is reporting that ‘Rock of Ages‘ star Tom Cruise, 49, and his wife of five years, actress Katie Holmes, 33, are calling it quits.

Though Cruise stated recently in an interview with Playboy magazine that he’s “so happy” with his three children and “extraordinary” wife, it apparently wasn’t the case with Holmes as the decision behind the split is seemingly hers. “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” said her attorney. “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

This was Holmes’ first marriage and Cruise’s third — he was previously wed to actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman.
