Today’s Birthdays – Bernadette Peters, The Woman Who Inspired ‘Thermos Song’ From ‘The Jerk’ [VIDEO]

Today is Bernadette Peters 65th birthday.  Back in the day, she was the hottest thing on tv and movies.  She could sing and dance, and she was with  Steve Martin for years.  She is also the inspiration for one of the funniest scenes in the 70's classic movie, 'The Jerk'.

'The Jerk' tells the story of Navin Johnson, played by Steve Martin, who was "born a poor black child", and becomes fabulously wealthy after he designs an accessory for glasses, but then loses his money after they become a health hazard.

There are a thousand hilarious moments in the movie, but the 'Thermos Song' is one of my favorites!  He is so sweet and goofy, and I mean, who wouldn't love a guy who is picking out a thermos for them?  The possibility of portable hot chocolate?  I'm there!
