Now that everyone has partied their faces off, and in some cases, their blouses off, on Fatu Tuesday, it's time to go to church and gear up for Lent.

If you managed to make it to work this morning, your probably planning on hitting church during your lunch hour to get the familiar cross of ashes on your forehead.  At least you better, you heathen!

Here is a partial list of Ash Wednesday services from the El Paso Times - and for heaven's sake, make sure you take those beads off.  The priest knows how you got them!

  • The Catholic Diocese of El Paso's Catholic Campus Ministry will hold two masses at UTEP, one at 12:30 p.m. at the Tomas Rivera Conference Center (Union East) and 5 p.m. at the El Paso Natural Gas Conference Center.
  • St. Patrick Cathedral at 1118 N. Mesa will have an English Ash Wednesday Mass at 7 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., bilingual Mass at 12:15 p.m., and Spanish Mass at 7 p.m.
  • St. Pius X Catholic Church in the central part of town at 1050 N. Clark will have Mass with ashes at 7 a.m., prayer and ashes in English at 12:15 p.m., prayer and ashes in Spanish at 1:30 p.m., ashes for children at 4 p.m., ashes for youth at 5 p.m., Mass with ashes in Spanish at 6:30 p.m., and prayer and ashes in English at 8 p.m.
  • Queen of Peace Catholic Church on the westside at 1551 Belvidere will have Mass with distribution of ashes at 8:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. Lenten service with ashes at 4:30 p.m.
