Three Children Injured in El Paso Apartment Fire

Three children are in critical condition today after their apartment caught fire.

It happened at the 9500 block of Sims where the fire originated out of an apartment. The reason is still unknown as to how the fire started but fire officials say it was very intense. The fire started about 4:30 a.m. when the family was sleeping. The fire was put out about 5:15 a.m. and three children were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

When fire rescue arrived at the apartment, the mother of the children handed them a baby and stated that there were three other children inside. The baby was not sent to the hospital but a 3-year-old girl, 11-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old girl are all in critical condition.

The fire was so intense that the fire hose started melting as it was putting out the fire. Firefighters said they have never experienced that in their career.
