This Year’s Back-to-school Sales Tax Holiday is This Weekend
As the upcoming new school year looms closer and closer for kids and parents in both the El Paso and Ysleta Independent School District, now is a good time to start planning your back-to-school shopping strategies around the sales tax holiday, and the 93.1 KISS-FM Back to School Expo.
This year, the opportunity to save money on a variety of back-to-school items is weekend, August 17-19.
In addition to clothes, footwear and some backpacks priced under $100, the law also exempts most school supplies priced at less than $100.
In general, you get a sales tax break of about $8 on every $100 you spend. For a complete list of what qualifies and what doesn’t, follow THIS LINK.
JUST ASKING: Do you prefer to do all your back-to-school shopping before the Sales Tax Holiday to avoid the mad rush of people, or are the savings worth the hassle?
