Things To Do This Weekend: Viva El Paso, Sunny Ozuna at Music Under the Stars & More
If you couldn’t get tickets to the fight at the Sun Bowl or it’s just not your thing there's still plenty of stuff to do around town. Some of its free some will cost you a few bucks:
Viva El Paso! — The outdoor musical extravaganza returns to McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre for its 35th season beginning this Friday and Saturday, and then every Friday and Saturday thereafter through August 12. More Details
Alfresco! Fridays — The 10th season of free outdoor concerts continues Friday at 6 p.m. at Arts Festival Plaza between El Paso Museum of Art and Plaza Theatre. El Paso favorites Azucar perform this Friday. More Details
Insights El Paso Science Museum —Dino Day, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit includes more than 75 replica displays of dinosaur skeletons and fossils drawn from the world’s most renowned museums including Smithsonian Institute, and Cairo Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. More Details
LYNX Exhibits — “Adventure Quest: Saving the Planet” Grand opening parking lot fair Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Displays, activities, jumping balloon, food and prizes. More Details
Dancing in the City— The annual weekly outdoor dance concerts series continues this Saturday at the Arts Festival Plaza, next to the Plaza Theater. The event includes a professionally led dance lesson at 7 p.m. followed by a live music performance featuring local and regional acts from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. QTango from Albuquerque provides the entertainment this Saturday. Big Daddy Car Show — Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino will host the 14th annual Father’s Day event from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Events include a car and motorcycle show with vehicles on display including cars, trucks and motorcycles. Food and beverage booths, beer garden and live music also featured. Admission is free.
Music Under the Stars — El Paso favorites Sunny Ozuna and the Sunliners from San Antonio perform this Sunday, 7:30 to 9:30 at the Chamizal. No outside alcohol permitted, but it will be sold on site. More Details
